Today we had a number of new whanau join us at the ngahere at Mangamuka.
Papa Joe did his korero to all the new whanau about the different rakau and uses.

LUNCHTIME
Natures Own - Sun Tan lotion
1/8th Cup Clandular flowers (soaked in oil for a min of 12 days)
1/8th Cup Avocardo Oil
1/8th Cup Almond oil
1 cup Coconut Oil
1/2 cup cocoa
combine all above ingredients simmer together the add beez wax (approx 6 nip glass sizes)
"Smells lovely and feels wonderful on your skin"
Mamaku and Karamu Balm
This balm is excellent for any skin irritations, itchy bites, boils, chaffing etc
1) heat Karamu oil (Karamu leaves soaked in oil of your choice eg: rice bran, grapeseed or canola)
2) chop and crush mamaku
3) add crushed Mamaku to karamu oil and gently heat for 3-4 min
4) use small tea strainer to remove mamaku (this is still good to use on its own later - store in a airtight container)
5) add bees wax (approx 6-8 nip cups depending on amount of Karamu oil)
4) when bees wax is melted pour into containers
